My Research Methodology

Primary Research
For my first but of research I will conduct a survey on survey monkey which will explore the depths of how women feel when they watch these super hero females. The reason for this is because one of the key topics asks about gender representations dominantly how women may feel self-conscious about how their appearance as Hollywood superhero's only hire supermodels for the roles. The interview will be able to give a deeper. My age range would be from 25 years old as that is the most popular age for women to watch super hero films.
This survey will explore why people and their cinema habits. The reason for this because I want to figure out why people go to the cinema to watch these films instead of watching them online or on demand. My age range will be from 15-24 as according to the BFI that is the age range with the most amount of admissions to superhero films in the cinema.
I will hold interviews with the workers in the comic book store there I will ask why they are into these superheroes? The second part of my interview would as about their encounters with other. Firstly, what types of customers come in and buy the comic books. Do they offer more than just comic books? How successful do these products do. I will go to the store in Bromley as it Is one of the more local stores to my location. I have chosen comic book workers as they are in a profession with in the fandom as comic books are the origin of superhero films

Secondary Research
Textual Analysis of a cross section of these films to compare to the findings, using theory such as uses and gratification and the effects model.
Publications/Theorist I will search for publications on google scholar about representations of women. I will research into the book 'Action Chick' which looks into the region of women and how they are being represented. The content of their book which states women taking over the roles of masculinity in films. links in with the interviews of the director of wonder woman and how this film empowers women.
Bechtel Experiment - The Bechdel Experiment is a simple test which names the following three criteria. Firstly, it has to have at least two women in it. Secondly, who talk to each other, and three about something besides a man. The use of this test will be useful in proving whether or not women are being misrepresented in superhero film as suggested in the article section by Sharon lamb.
Ratings & Review Statistics
I will review Ratings and reviews which are displayed on Platforms such as Netflix and BFI, Barb, Rotten Tomato's and IMDB. The reason for this is to get an idea of how popular these superhero shows are.
I will look at the barb statistics for the television for DC television shows such as The Flash, The Arrow, DC's Legends of tomorrow and Supergirl to see if there is a contradiction of the superhero fatigue.
Following the television statistics, I will want to find out what age range of audience is watching these super hero films and if there is a disparity between the film industry and the television industry.
Market industry sales statistics
For this secondary research I will look into the comic books sales of the superhero genre and take a look to see if there is a trend or pattern in either the has been a decline or an increase.
will also be able to review cinema grossing from superhero films from the box office
Out of the top 10 highest grossing films 3 of them are superhero's which is the most dominant genre out of the top 10.
This secondary research source is used to contradict the statement in the article that after 2016
People disliked the role of batman played by ben Affleck because of his 2003 daredevil flop.
As a fan they also hate the change of characters played in superhero roles.
